Our group travels beyond the local community to experience a variety of fun recreational activities. Outings include: theater, sporting events, peer dances, and horseback riding camp!
Horseback Riding Camp
One of our largest fundraisers is the walkathon to provide scholarships for equine assisted therapy camp. Riders develop balance and rhythm from the movement, in which the child indirectly learns how to focus better, tactile senses are stimulated, motor skills are also developed in grooming and there’s an increase in self-confidence, which increases the desire and willingness to learn skills at home and/or at school. Learning is no longer scary, but fun, interesting and rewarding.
Music n Me Nutrition, Dance and Exercise Class
Sedentary lifestyles and unhealthy eating habits can influence behavior, academic performance and social interactions. Our Music n Me Nutrition, Dance and Exercise Class is a program combining fitness, social interaction, expression and the opportunity to explore nutritious foods. Improved mobility and making better food choices are important and beneficial for long term health and well-being. The group experience teaches patience, listening to instruction and the valuable skill of working your way around a kitchen.
If you are simply looking for some "good works" to support in your community, you have come to the right place. Contributions from thoughtful committed citizens like yourselves allow us to fund our programming efforts and continue to provide much needed activities and outlets for Children and Parents of Children with Autism and other Special Needs.
