Saturday University

Most Saturday's throughout the year, two of our most heralded programs are neatly packed into what is most commonly known as Saturday University. A day built on a combined formula designed to address our students' need to grow both mentally and physically - like any other young adult. A day when our student spend the first half developing their minds, during Our Spectrum University Program --- and the other half taking care of their bodies, during Our MUSIC n ME Program.

OUR SPECTRUM UNIVERSITY PROGRAM

More than a third of young adults on the Autism spectrum are neither working nor in college. Young adults on the Autism spectrum experience unique challenges in finding work or enrolling in appropriate educational opportunities after leaving high school. The Answer Inc. facilitates Autism friendly employers and connects them with eligible applicants to become part of community life.

To help address this need Spectrum University services participants --- ages 18 to 40 --- impacted by Autism and Other Developmental Disorders.

OUR MUSIC n ME PROGRAM

Sedentary lifestyles and unhealthy eating habits can influence behavior, academic performance and social interactions. Our MUSIC n ME Nutrition, Dance and Exercise Class is a program combining fitness, social interaction, expression and the opportunity to explore nutritious foods. Improved mobility and making better food choices are important and beneficial for long term health and well-being. The group experience teaches patience, listening to instruction, and the valuable skill of working your way around a kitchen.

This particular saturday, our students took a lil break to in between programs, to help us shoot some of the wears for our SOON COMING SHOP - and we want to thank them for lending us a hand.  Stay tuned for details on the opening of our shop, all of the wonderful finds you can expect, and how to secure that perfect something for yourself and/or someone special to you.

It is commonly believed that if you are not a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem... or as we like to put it - if you are not a part of the answer then you are likely a part of the problem. My hope is that you will commit to "Being A Part Of The Answer" by Opening Your Heart To Autism Today and supporting THIS YEAR'S WALKATHON.

With state budgets being cut regularly, it is only through your support that we are able to continue in our commitment to being The Best Autism Awareness and Support Agency in the Chicagoland Area and to continue delivering on our promises to the families that we serve.

Remember that a portion of your contribution is tax deductible and your kindness never goes unrewarded.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office at 708- 296-5651.
