In this episode of Ask Jason’s Mom, we will be sharing 8 tips to help our friends, neighbors, and other community members… be more thoughtful about the well intended words that they may think, speak, or ask.

These tips were found on parents.com and include the following things people may say with the best of intentions:

1. I'm sorry.

2. Parenting your son must be so hard, I can't imagine how you do it

3. You're really amazing to take care of a child with special needs.

4. It's too bad you had to put your life on hold.

5. Have you tried a cure?

6. This is just temporary, right? Your child will "get better" as he/she gets older.

7. Your child wouldn't have meltdowns if you disciplined him.
